*Disclaimer: A score of 5 is the midpoint for my reviews. Above 5 I like it. Below 5 I didn’t for some reason. Most of my reviews are between 4-7. It takes something really really special to go above 7 or below 4. See the methodologies for rating at the end of the article

Nose: Hot with intensity. Plum, Cinnamon, Cherries, Strong Ethanol, Anise, & Musty Oak.

Taste/Palate: Not as intense as the nose. Damp Oak, Cherries, Anise, Lemon Zest, Brown Sugar, & Leather.

Finish: Slightly short finish for the proof. Musty Oak again, Cherries, & Baking Spices.

Verdict: This one was not for me. I was not alone. 3 of us sampled this with high expectations and all of us didn’t care for it. My friend is a Bookers Enthusiast and this is the least favorite out of all the Booker’s expressions to date. I personally did a blind taste of this Chapter 6 vs the Little Book Chapter 4 and it was night and day different. Which I expect with a experimental line, but it was a hands down an easy choice of which I preferred. The 4 was by far better than the 6. This isn’t a drain pour, it just didn’t live up to the Booker’s line and certainly not what I would expect out of a Little Book release.
MSRP: I’ll Pass . Price Ceiling: $75 (The most I’d pay for this bottle)

The Story: When I was first getting into whiskey a decade ago I started with Scotch, Irish Whiskey & Bourbon on ice and then progressed into drinking my spirits neat. Very early into my neat stage I sampled a Booker’s and I wasn’t ready for the heat. I quickly learned to pay attention to the proof on the bottle after that. Fast-forward to today and I enjoy high proof whiskey’s neat, but back then Booker’s burned a strong memory into my brain that I don’t think I’ll soon forget.

The Distillery’s Story: “Little Book® Chapter 6, “To The Finish,” is the sixth chapter in the Little Book Whiskey series. “To The Finish” offers a chance for any curious whiskey drinker to expand their palate – both seasoned connoisseurs and newcomers alike. The name of this year’s chapter offers fans of American whiskey an opportunity to experience liquid that I personally had a hand in creating and showcases the innovation of Little Book chapters over the last six years.”

Methodologies for Rating:
1. Dump it down the drain or regift it to someone you don’t care for.
2. This doesn’t even belong in a mixed drink. Use in case of an emergency.
3. It’s really not for me, but I heard some people like it.
4. Its only good when I’ve had too many and it’s decent in a mixer.
5. Average. Not bad, but not special.
6. Above average. Good to bring to an event and you wouldn’t expect any guff from it.
7. Buy two if you see it to make sure you have one on reserve.
8. Very Very good. Constantly a GREAT POUR.
9. Superb. If I were to drink this and only this from now on I’d be a happy person.
10. Perfection is impossible. But this really comes as close as you can possibly get.
